‘Deep tech’ was coined to refer to start-ups whose business models are based on significant scientific advances or high-tech innovation in engineering. These start-ups are working in areas such as chemistry, artificial intelligence, life sciences, aerospace, clean energy, and more, but the term ‘deep tech’ can often be synonymous with artificial intelligence, robotics, and 3D printing. We have coined the term 'deep tech chemistry' to surface chemistry in the deep tech definition.
Read our case study series to find out more about the journeys and challenges faced by these start-ups on the road to delivering their innovations and solutions to key societal challenges, such as new cancer treatments and tackling plastic recyclability.
The best way to understand deep tech chemistry is to explore the technologies being developed by this community. See the full gallery to find out more about the ventures we have supported through our venture acceleration programme and hear about their technologies in their own words.
