Smart Materials for rapid authentication technology

The University of Manchester have developed Smart Materials that demonstrate unprecedented UV-light photoresponse with a fully reversible luminescence colour change within seconds. Their idea enables the authentication of banknotes, fiscal stamps, government documents or pharmaceuticals. Manchester smart materials enable new security anti-counterfeiting technology that criminals or competitors would find extremely difficult to replicate.
